Reviving jungle life through fashion


A week long Jungle festival been started from February 13 2015 in Shanti Ban Batika of Pokhara has witnessed a refreshing and worth watching fashion show. With dozens of times watching the models in the closed arena or even some times in the open venue but this time it was totally different and in the mid arena of the Jungle. With the background music being complementing with the theme executed by the models on the stage had various attires given the form of Jungle look having the representation of birds, animals, flowers, insects, tree branches, leaves and other details that gave the attires carrying the life and scenario of a Jungle.

Jungle FestivalThe fashion show was been scheduled in five different rounds. The first round was ‘The jungle kingdom’ that depicted the jungle system which had two different sequences each represented the jungle era and life within the jungle. The second round was named as ‘Hunts in the jungle’. This round showcased the hunting scenario that is being occurred in the jungle which had two sequences, first depicting the hunting and second being the execution of stop hunting. The third round was called ‘Party in the jungle’. This round showcased a sequence that showcased the merry making, fun and lively life of the jungle. Each fashion sequence had a complete flavor of Jungle where the dresses worn by the models, the expressions, act and performance given by the models just complemented the theme of the show and its presentation.

Jungle FestivalThe show was been choreographed by Arun Giri. Some eighteen models were been the part of this Jungle environment friendly fashion show and dresses were been created by the designers from fashion designing college IFC. The event that aims to conserve wild animals and create harmonious relationship between wild animals and people, Jungle Festival 2071 is being organized by Parichaya Nepal will last till 19th of February 2015. It will be celebrated with the slogan ‘a green week’.

At the festival, 22 types of birds and 18 animals are being displayed. An exhibition of Raute community, jungle environment-friendly fashion show, magic show, adventures games, circus, Tharu dance and cultural programs along with more than hundred stalls exhibiting herbs found in the jungles, organic foods, handicraft and domestic products are been the attraction of the event. The solo performers like Indira Joshi, Milan Amatya, Akanchhya Basyal, Tilak Bam Malla, Sugam Pokharel, Binod Baniya, Kamal Khatri to bands like Kandara and The Morcha are been the musical entertainers of the event.
