Priyanka Karki’s movie Masterni has unveiled its official teaser, introducing a tense mystery involving a mother, a missing girl, a terrible accident and a growing list of suspects.
The approximately one-minute video avoids revealing the story in a conventional way. Instead, it moves between short, unsettling visuals and a sequence of written clues designed to raise questions.
“A Mother’s Love” appears first. It is followed by “A Missing Girl” and “A Terrible Accident,” before the teaser expands the mystery with the warning: “Everybody Is a Suspect.” The final lines make the emotional conflict even more personal: “How Far Would You Go to Protect Your Own?”

A Mother at the Centre of the Mystery
The teaser places motherhood at the emotional heart of Masterni, but it does not present that love as simple or comforting.
Its final question suggests that the central character may be forced to choose between truth, justice and the protection of her family. Priyanka appears in an intense and restrained avatar, while the sharply edited glimpses around her create suspicion without identifying an obvious villain.

Priyanka Karki Expands Her Creative Role
Masterni is a significant project for Priyanka because her involvement extends beyond acting.
She developed the film’s original story and is also one of its producers. Shan Basnet wrote the screenplay, while Priyanka and Basnet jointly worked on the dialogues. The movie is directed by Indian filmmaker Subhendu Ghosh.
The film is being presented under Ayanka Films, marking the banner’s entry into feature-film production.
Earlier announcements also revealed plans to prepare the film in several languages, including Nepali, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bhojpuri and Punjabi.
When Will ‘Masterni’ Release?
The latest posters and promotional materials advertise an August 21, 2026 theatrical release. Earlier reports had announced August 28, indicating that the schedule was subsequently revised.
