Shovit Basnet’s PR Unveils Emotional Story on Dreams of Australia

Official trailer of the Nepali film PR, directed by Shovit Basnet, has been released bringing a sharp look at the dreams and struggles of Nepali youths chasing permanent residency in Australia. The production team unveiled the three and a half minute long trailer at a press meet in Kathmandu, drawing strong reactions for its emotional tone and relatable storyline.

The film follows students who travel to Australia with high hopes, loan burdens and pressure from families back home. But life abroad is not as easy as imagined. Basnet highlights the harsh reality many youths face when they cannot send money home on time and families fail to understand the challenges on foreign land.

Actors Suraj Poudel and Binita Karki, who actually live in Australia, already came to Nepal to promote the film ahead of its nationwide release on September 26.

PR also features Rajan Kunwar, Pooja Chaudhary, Ashma Adhikari Mastani, Bimala Khatri, Ganesh Budhathoki, Max Krishna Thapa and Nabin Ghayal in key characters. Veteran artists Neer Shah, Gauri Malla, Ravindra Khadka, Uttam K.C. Nepal and Dikpal Karki appear in special roles.

Produced under Salon Salina Films, PR is presented by Ranjeet Saha and Santosh Tiwari, with Laxman Sapkota and Pradeep Dahal serving as producers.
