As the release date of Wilson Bikram Rai’s (popularly known as Takme Budha) much awaited film ‘Maijharo’ approaches, the makers have dropped its vibrant song ‘Sakela Nachau’. The track, sung by Rajesh Payal Rai and Melina Rai, beautifully celebrates the cultural rhythm of the Rai community of eastern Nepal.
Written by Padam Sadhana Kulung and composed by Torempahang Rai, the song captures the joy and togetherness of the traditional Sakela dance, a sacred festival dance performed by the Kirat Rai people.
The video features two on screen pairs Dayahang Rai and Diya Pun, alongside Dhiraj Magar and Miruna Magar delivering stunning choreography that reflects the energy and emotion of Rai culture. Set against a backdrop of vibrant traditional attire and dynamic movements, the visuals celebrate love and unity between the Rai and Limbu communities, aligning perfectly with the film’s storyline.
The song has already garnered an enthusiastic response from audiences, who praise its authentic representation of eastern Nepali heritage. Following the popularity of Maijharo’s previous releases like ‘Timilai Ke Thaha Sanu,’ this latest track has further raised excitement ahead of the film’s nationwide release.
‘Maijharo’ marks Wilson Bikram Rai’s directorial debut, featuring Dhiraj Magar, Miruna Magar, Diya Pun, Buddhi Tamang, Sunil Thapa, Pushkar Gurung, and others in pivotal roles. Produced under the Takme Productions banner, the film is set for an all Nepal release on Kartik 7 (October 23).
