The evening of December 5th, 2020 became the most commendable moment for 23 years of Namrata Shrestha as she became Miss Nepal World 2020. Tagged as contestant no. 18 Namrata was able to prove herself the best among the other five finalists that included Supriya Shrestha, Sandhya Sharma, Merisa Singh Suwal, Aayesha Shrestha, and Shimal Kanaujiya.
Answering the final question asked by the Chief Judge Educationist Meekha Mathema, ‘Imagine you are a beautiful pebble gently dropped into a calm pond, what kind of long-lasting ripples would you want to spread for the Nepali women? In reply, Namrata told, ‘The first thing I want to say is that Nepali Women are very Strong. I am inspired by my mom and the kind of positivity that she has, the kind of mountains she has climbed and had to climb in order to raise her three children and treated us equally and help us to make an impact in society is commendable. We as women are incredibly talented, we can be empowered. With positivity and kindness, we can win the world.’ With this answer, Namrata bagged the crown of Miss Nepal World 2020 and was been crowned by Miss Nepal World 2019 Anushka Shrestha.

The New queen of Miss Nepal World Namrata Shrestha hails from Kathmandu and is a certified Kindergarten teacher. Doing Masters in Sociology, Shrestha aims to be an impactful educator and stands five feet five inches tall. As the winner of the event, she was awarded with a cash prize of rupees two lakh fifty thousand and also earned a brand new Yamaha Fascino Scooter. Namrata was also successful to bag two other subtitles named Brij Cement Miss Confident and The Kathmandu Post Miss Intellectual. This was Namrata’s second attempt in Miss Nepal Pageant. Back in the year 2016 Namrata was able to make herself in the final five of Miss Nepal 2016.

Likewise, in the event 24 years of age, Supriya Shrestha from Kathmandu was crowned as Miss Nepal Earth 2020. She received the crown from Miss Nepal Earth 2019 Riya Basnet. 24 years of age Sandhya Sharma from Mahottari completed the event as Miss Nepal International 2020 and was been crowned by Miss Nepal International 2020, Meera Kakshapati. Sandhya bagged other subcategories as well. She was able to name herself as the winner of IME Pay Beauty with a purpose, Livon Life Miss Popular choice, and Ruslan Women of Substance. The event saw 24 years of age Shimal Kanaujiya from Kathmandu as Miss Nepal Supranational 2020 and was crowned by the chief judge of the event Meekha Mathema. All three Miss Nepal Earth, Miss Nepal International, and Miss Nepal Supranational each of them earned two lakh and fifty thousand rupees as their cash prize.
The event saw Merisa Singh Suwal as Altroz Miss Stylish, Subhangi Khatri Goldstar Miss Fitness, Riya Shrestha as Nepal Tourism Board Miss Tourism, Neha Sarkar as Nepal Medicity Miss Healthy, Astika Shrestha as Creative D Studio Miss Photogenic, and Yojana Bhattarai as Berger Miss Glamour. Each of the subcategory winners received a cash prize of rupees twenty-five thousand.

The ladies who made to the top 12 were Astika Shrestha, Namrata Shrestha, Merisa Singh Suwal, Riya Shrestha, Arnika Rajbhandari, Pragati Shrestha, Supriya Shrestha, Aayesha Shrestha, Sija Chaulagain, Sajana Panta, Simal Kanaujiya, and Sandhya Sharma. In the top 12 question-answer sessions, these ladies faced a panel of judges that included Founder of Tootle Nepal Sixit Bhatta, Executive Director of MAW foundation, Tulika Agrawal, VP of Vaidya Group, Karna Vaidya, Miss Nepal 2017 Nikita Chandak, Founder/ Chairperson of Daayitwo Nepal Dr. Pukar Malla, Medical Superintendent of Nepal Medicity Hospital Dr. Raj Rana, Miss Nepal 2013 Preeti Sitoula, Founder of Smart Paani Nepal. Suman Shakya, Cine actor Swostima Khadka, Helicopter Rescue Pilot, Captain Priya Adhikari, and Educationist Meekha Mathema.

The event was been hosted at Park Village Resort, Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, and was broadcasted live at Kantipur TV HD. The event took off with the self-introduction phase by the contestants and then the elimination came up with the top 12. The top 12 was an individual question-answer session from where the top six finalists were been finalized. The event was emceed by Sanjay Silwal Gupta, choreographed by Rachana Gurung Sharma who was been assisted by Priya Rani Lama. The dresses were been designed by KASA and fashion designer Manish Rai while make-up and hairdo were done by the team of Ananeke Beauty salon and spa.
