Jire Khursani and Bhadragol closed indefinitely


The telecast of popular Nepal comedy tele serials ‘Jire Khursani’ and ‘Bhadragol’ has been stopped indefinitely. ‘Jire Khursani’ is an old show running at the Nepal Television, while, ‘Bhadragol’ became popular in a short span of time.
Jire Khursani BhadragolThe telecast of both the serials stopped after amount kept by the sponsor company World Vision Advertising as a bank guarantee, turned out to be fake. The amount Rs 5 crore 86 lakh kept by the company at the Siddhartha Bank turned out to exits in paper only. Following the scam, police arrested operator Dinesh Shrestha and he is currently under the custody of Metropolitan Police Range, Hanuman Dhoka.

ntv-press-releaseThe state-owned broadcaster has already expelled its two employees over investigation into the scam. The World Vision Advertising has taken contract of two tele serials that closed in Shrawan and also of ‘Tito Satya’ and ‘Meri Bassai’. The company later sold ‘Tito Satya’ and ‘Meri Bassai’ to Media Hub.

‘Jire Khursani’ is being directed by Jitu Nepal, while ‘Bhadragol’ is directed by Shankar Acharya. The ‘Jire Khursani’ team is currently outside Nepal.

Few months ago, famous shows ‘Tito Satya’ and ‘Meri Bassai’ too had stopped their telecast due to dispute with Media Hub. Issuing a statement, NTV Employee Association has demanded probe into the multi-million scam.
