Breaking the stereotypes associated with beauty pageants mostly regarding physical appearance and fitness of the winner, on September 9 2023 Jane Dipika Garrett, 23 years of age a plus size contestant has been crowned as the new queen for Miss Universes Nepal.
With this historic moment unfolded in the Nepali pageantry scene, Jane Dipika now would officially represent Nepal at Miss Universe 2023 being hosted at El Salvador in the month of November 2023.
Garrett surpassed 21 other contestants to win Miss Universe Nepal 2023 at the Godavari Sunrise Convention Center, Lalitpur. In the event Garima Ghimire was named first runner-up, while Buddhisara Sunar, Shitashma Pokharel, and Abhilasha Lamsal were announced as the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.
In the event Abhilasha Lamsal bagged Social Impact leader and Miss Elegance award. Shitashma Pokharel won the greatest number of subtitles which included Miss Dazzling Diva, Miss ICT and Miss Lifestyle. Puja Paudel earned Miss Fierce and Miss Martini Sun Angel, Prema Lamgade earned Miss Eco Infinity and Miss Free & Fearless.
Likewise, Miss Creative Canvass was bagged by Amisha Basnet while Alista Subedi took away Miss Fabulous while Palistha Bajracharya earned Miss True Beauty and Sarosi Neupane was awarded as Miss Unstoppable.
The event was hosted by Umang Creation and was choreographed by Actor/Fashion Choreographer Prashant Tamrakar.
