In the grand coronation of Miss Universe 2021, 21 years of age Indian Model Harnaaz Sandhu has been elected as the new Miss Universe. The lady bagged the award in the final ceremony of the event that was showcased at Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel on 12 December 2021.
In the event, Nadia Ferreira from Paraguay finished the event as the first runner-up while Lalela Mswane from South Africa completed as the second runner-up. The 70th edition of Miss Universe pageant saw 80 global beauties competing for the most coveted title award.
Among the special awards of Miss Universe 2021, Maristella Okpala from Nigeria earned Best National Costume, Chantel O’ Brian from The Bahamas bagged Spirit of Carnival Award, and Antonia Figueroa from Chile earned Social Impact Award. Harnaaz Sandhu is the third Indian to be crowned Miss Universe. Earlier in 1994, Sushmita Sen was chosen as Miss Universe while Lara Dutta won the title back in the year 2000.
21 years of age Harnaaz is an Indian Model who is not fresh belle for pageants. Back in the year 2017, Harnaaz won the award called Times Fresh Face Miss Chandigarh 2017 where she was been chosen as Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018 and Femina Miss India Punjab 2019. Back in October, she was crowned Miss Universe India 2021. She has also stepped in the field of acting and has done Punjabi movies called Yaara Diyan Poo Baran and Bai Ji Kuttange.
