‘Dancing with the Stars Nepal’ premiered, Nepalese celebrities to showcase their dancing skills

The Nepalese version of Celebrity Dance Reality show licensed by BBC Studios ‘Dancing with the Stars Nepal’ has been premiered on Friday 18th September 2020 on Himalaya Television.

Dancing with the Stars is the name of various international television series based on the format of the British TV series Strictly Come Dancing, which is distributed by BBC Studios. Currently, the format has been licensed to over 42 territories. The format of the show consists of a celebrity paired with a professional dancer. Each couple performs predetermined dances and competes against the others for judges’ points and audience votes. The couple receiving the lowest combined total of judges’ points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only the champion dance pair remains.

The premiere edition of Dancing with the Stars Nepal had an introductory performance of all the Dance choreographers and their celebrity partners. The show also witnessed exclusive performances of the judging panel of the TV series, Actress Gauri Malla, Actor Dilip Rayamajhi and Choreographer/Director Renasha Rai Rana. Also, the Mahanayak of the Nepalese film fraternity Mr. Rajesh Hamal graced the show as the special guest.

Dancing with the Stars Nepal has 11 pairs of performers, a professional dance choreographer partnered with a celebrity. The performers have been paired for Dancing with the Stars Nepal are Motivator/Influencer Shristi K.C paired with Choreographer Keshav Thapa, Artist/Model Puja Thakur paired with Choreographer Rajiv Samar, TV series Actress Rakshya Shrestha paired with Choreographer Saroj Moktan, Fashion Choreographer/Actor Prashant Tamrakar paired with Choreographer Swoyatna Yonjan, Singer Jyoti Magar paired with Choreographer Laure Singh.

Likewise, the team of other performers are the winner of Nepal Idol Buddha Lama paired with Choreographer Kebika Khatri, Footballer Hari Khadka paired with Choreographer Yumi Balami, Comedian Phulandeko Ama (Umesh Rai) paired with Choreographer Pramod Bhandari, Child performer Divanshi Baidawar paired with Choreographer Subham Bhujel, Model/Actress Sumi Moktan paired with Choreographer Viju Parki and the TikTok famed twins Deepa Damanta paired with Choreographer Sunik B.K.

Himalaya Television’s Dancing with the Stars Nepal would be aired every Friday & Saturday from 8 pm to 9 pm and would be hosted by Stand-up Comedian Suman Karki and Former Miss Nepal Sadichha Shrestha. The show is being directed by Laxman Paudyal.
