Biopic MAKHAMALI to be made on life of Charimaya Tamang

Film ‘Makhmali’ will portray life of Charimaya Tamang, who was forced to live diabolic life in Mumbai at the age of sixteen years. She spent 22 months in a brothel before the Indian government rescued her along with over 200 other Nepali women in 1996.

Now, she is actively working against human trafficking. She has already honored by intentional awards (Hero Acting to End Modern-Day Slavery Award 2011) for her campaign against human slavery.

Director Raju Giri said that the film is being made incorporating the story of a Nepali girl from poor family sold at a brothel in India.

Actress Suvekshya Thapa will play the role of Chari Maya in the film. She is Producer, Story writer, Screenplay and dialogue writer of the film too.

Actress Thapa said that over 70 percent of the film will be shot in Sindhu palchowk district, the birthplace of Charimaya Tamang. Chairyamaya expressed happiness for film on her life.
