Akshay Kumar starrer Gorkha is postponed, refutes rumors of fallout with actor

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar has reportedly left his lead role in the upcoming war drama ‘Gorkha,’ which was set to be produced by Aanand L Rai. The film, based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo, has been postponed due to technical and factual issues.

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar recently made headlines when it was reported that he had stepped down from his lead role in the film “Gorkha.” The film, set to be produced by Aanand L Rai, was set to be a war drama based on the life of Major General Ian Cardozo, a war hero, and the first war-disabled officer of the Indian Army to command a battalion and a brigade. Last year, Kumar shared the first posters of the film, in which he was dressed in a military uniform, stating that he was honored to portray such an inspiring figure.

However, Rai has now announced that the film has been postponed due to technical and factual issues. In an interview with indianexpress.com, the producer stated, “There are so many technical things that we need to take care of before we do the film. We also need to work on the factual details of the film. So, it will need the time it deserves. We can’t rush it.” Rai also clarified that if the film does move forward, it will still star Akshay Kumar, stating, “If we are doing the film then Akshay will be a part of the film. If not, we’ll work on something else.”

Speculations have circulated that Kumar left the film due to errors in the story, but these have not been confirmed. Kumar and Rai have previously worked together on “Atrangi Re” and “Raksha Bandhan,” and it is unclear at this time if they will collaborate on future projects.

The postponement of “Gorkha” is a disappointment for fans of both Kumar and the inspiring story of Major General Ian Cardozo. It remains to be seen if the film will eventually move forward and if Kumar will still be involved in the project. In the meantime, fans of the actor can look forward to his upcoming roles in other films.
