A Cambodia rooftop incident is drawing attention after a woman reportedly survived a building fall and used her phone.
A woman in Cambodia reportedly survived a fall from an eighth-floor building, but it was the unexpected scene afterward that caught attention online: she sat on a neighbouring rooftop using her phone for around 20 minutes.
Images and video circulating online show the aftermath of the incident in Sihanoukville. One photograph shows her sitting in a dent in the metal roof, while footage captures people watching from below as she moves towards its edge.
According to Cambodian outlet TNB News, the incident happened during the night of September 26 into September 27, 2026. The woman reportedly fell from the eighth floor and landed on the zinc roof of a nearby house.
Residents heard a loud crash and rushed to investigate. Finding her on the roof, they initially feared she had died or suffered serious injuries, Mothership reported, citing Sin Chew Daily.
Then came the unexpected development.
About half an hour later, the woman reportedly regained consciousness and sat up. She began using her phone and remained seated with it for approximately 20 minutes, according to the reports.
That ordinary gesture, following such a frightening incident, became the most striking detail of the story. The phone use gives the circulating images an unusual quality, although the reports do not establish whether she was calling someone, messaging or doing something else.
Stomp describes the woman as wearing a grey shirt and shorts. In the footage, several people who appear to be officers or rescuers stand below, with a torch directed towards her. The clip ends as she slowly gets to her feet.
She subsequently made her way down from the roof herself and left the scene, according to Mothership. The outlet said the reports offered no further details about her condition afterward.
Her identity and the circumstances behind the fall remain unclear. While the images show her sitting up and moving, the available reporting does not establish that she escaped without injuries or received medical treatment.
