Akshay Kumar is all set to take charge in and as Sooryavanshi in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming cop drama. The first look posters of Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi is revealed on social media. A Film Directed by Rohit Shetty is a spin-off of Ajay Devgn’s Singham and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba and is a part of the Rohit Shetty’s Singham universe.
Akshay shared Sooryavanshi’s first look posters and wrote, “A bullet for a bullet! Get ready for #RohitShetty’s #Sooryavanshi on Eid 2020. Action-packed, masala intact!”
The poster features Akshay Kumar in action and we must say it’s good to see him back in the police uniform. For those unaware, Akshay had played a hoard of roles in the films in the 90s where he would be a cop.
Bajirao Singham aka Ajay Devgn and Sangram ‘Simmba’ Bhalerao aka Ranveer Singh also shared the posters of the masala entertainer.
For those who have watched Simmba, Akshay Kumar appeared in the climax of the movie in a cameo role as ATS chief Veer Sooryavanshi. In the short sequence, Akshay’s character was seen talking on the phone with Ajay Devgn’s Singham. And what makes this movie more exciting is that it is releasing on Eid 2020.The release date which is synonymous with a Salman Khan starrer will now see Akshay Kumar wreaking havoc on the big screen and at the box office.
Film’s co-producer Karan Johar also shared Sooryavanshi first look and tweeted, “Eid 2020 will be about a bullet for a bullet. #Sooryavanshi stars the khiladi of all time, @akshaykumar & directed by the blockbuster machine, #RohitShetty!”
Ajay, Akshay and Ranveer – have often been spotted together and have spoken about the cop universe – a first of a kind for Hindi film industry. While Singham is a profitable franchise, Simmba has become one of the biggest hits of 2018 and made records for both Rohit and Ranveer.
Coincidentally, a film with the same title, Sooryavanshi, was released in 1992 and featured Salman Khan in the lead role. The fantasy horror film was produced by Vijay Galani.
