Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle crowned Miss World 2016, Nepal’s Asmi completes at top five of beauty with a purpose category

Rojin Shakya | The most awaited glittering gala event of beauty, Miss World 2016 finale completes on 18th December 2016 where Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico became victorious to take away the most coveted award of Miss World 2016. Leaving behind hundred and sixteen other global beauties, 19 years of age five feet eight inches tall Stephanie secured her position as the winner of 66th edition of Miss World pageant.

The event that took place at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, USA saw Yaritza Miguelina Reyes Ramirez of the Dominican Republic as first runner-up followed by Miss World Indonesia Natasha Mannuela as second runner-up. Philippines’s Catriona Gray and Kenya’s Evelyn Njambi Thungu were other finalists in final five of the event.

In the event Miss Nepal 2016 Asmi Shrestha could not achieve much but was successful at Beauty with a Purpose category where she made till top five in the category. Her Beauty with a purpose category was a project called “Classroom and Beyond”, an initiative which focuses at providing quality education to children living in rural parts of Nepal. With the theme ‘It takes a village to educate a child’ the project aims to achieve the goal of providing quality education.
