Prinsha departed to Philippines for Miss Earth 2014

Prinsha Shrestha, Miss Nepal Earth 2014 has flown to Philippines on 31st of October 2014 to participate in Miss Earth 2014 that will be held on November 29, 2014 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines. 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches tall standing, 22 years of age Prinsha Shrestha from kathmandu is also the winner of best complexion and beauty with purpose in Miss Nepal 2014. This year it would be 14th edition of Miss Earth Pageant and 90contestants from all over the world will be competing for the crown. Alyz Henrich from Venezuela will crown her successor at the end of this event.

Before leaving for Philippines, Prinsha went through various trainings and preparations which majorly included fitness, dining etiquettes and table manners, confidence building and public speaking, aesthetic training related to make-up and hair, international culture and pageant training. Prinsha did go through preparation related to the talent round and wardrobe styling for the various rounds of Miss Earth Pageant.

Prinsha-Shrestha-in-AirportThis year the theme of Miss Earth pageant is promoting Eco-Tourism and each contestants are expected to submit a video clippings of their involvement on the theme which will also assist them in their overall judging in the pageant. In this regard Prinsha has made a video that included a week long project covering Lukla, Namchhe including the Everest Base Camp. She closely worked with local farming communities which only grow potatoes. Besides making potato cultivation economically variable for local farmers, she also engaged them to grow the product organically. She urged many of the hotels/ lodges to use this local product as everything in the area is imported.

In doing so thousands of mountaineers/ trekkers can avail of hygienic and organically produced variety of potato based food which would be healthy and prevent tourists from falling sick. Besides promoting the Everest Region for tourism around the world, her project also would assist the locals economically while promoting Eco–Tourism as well. The five-minute video is titled “Everest Potato Pancakes” which is actually the name of a locally available roti sort of dish.
