Miss Universe 2025 pageant has been shaking by a controversy after Thai executive Nawat Itsaragrisil faced counterattack for publicly humiliating Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch, during a live event in Thailand. The incident has gone viral, across social media and prompting the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) to step in.

The drama unfolded during a sash-presentation event earlier this week. As seen in viral clips, Nawat, who was overseeing the ceremony, scolded Miss Mexico in front of the audience, calling her “dummy” after she allegedly refused to join a photo shoot. When she tried to explain herself, he ordered security to escort her out.

The video quickly spread online, drawing strong criticism from fans and former beauty queens who called the incident “disrespectful” and “abusive.” Within hours, several contestants, including reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, walked out of the event in protest.

Following the outrage, MUO President Raúl Rocha Cantú issued a strong statement condemning Nawat’s behavior. He described it as “humiliating, insulting, and against the values of the Miss Universe Organization.” Rocha Cantú added, “We will not allow any act that disrespects or undermines the dignity of women.”

According to Sources, Nawat has been restricted from participating in the remaining Miss Universe 2025 activities. While some media outlets have reported that he was “dismissed,” MUO has not officially confirmed his full removal from all positions. Instead, sources said his involvement in the Thailand event has been “minimized or completely suspended.”

Nawat later posted an apology on social media, stating, “I am human, and I make mistakes. I did not intend to harm anyone.” And pageant fans are saying the apology came too late to fix the issue.

Miss Universe 2025 pageant is currently taking place in Thailand. Global attention is now focused on how the MUO manage this issue? This controversy may mark a turning point in how the organization addresses respect and accountability within beauty pageants.
