Miley Cyrus Pledges $1 Million for 97 Homes and Her Mother Is Helping With the Interiors
Miley Cyrus has pledged $1 million to help create 97 permanent apartments for women experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles, supporting a project that combines a place to live with healthcare, counselling and employment support.
The contribution, announced through the Miley Cyrus Foundation, will support the Downtown Women’s Center’s HOME Campaign as the organisation develops Rosa’s Place in the city’s Skid Row neighbourhood.
The seven-storey development will provide permanent supportive housing for women and survivors of violence. Alongside accommodation, residents will have access to services that help them recover from trauma and build greater independence.
The gift was announced at the Every Woman Housed Gala on October 10, 2026, where Cyrus and her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, were honoured for their support of the centre.
For the mother and daughter, the work also involves helping make those living spaces feel welcoming.

Miley and Tish have been involved in renovations to residential and community areas at the Downtown Women’s Center’s Los Angeles campus. They are also consulting on the interior design of Rosa’s Place.
Meeting the women supported by the organisation has made the partnership especially meaningful for Cyrus.
“Their strength, resilience, and hope stay with me long after I leave,” she said in a statement shared by the centre.
The Downtown Women’s Center is developing Rosa’s Place with Daylight Community Development and GTM Holdings. Its 97 studio apartments will expand the organisation’s existing downtown campus, increasing its housing capacity in the area from 119 to 216 apartments.

Miley Cyrus’s foundation has pledged $1 million to support Rosa’s Place, a Los Angeles development set to provide 97 permanent apartments for women experiencing homelessness.
Residents will have access to case management, healthcare, mental health services and employment programmes. The aim is to provide continuing support alongside the stability of a permanent home.
The pledge builds on Cyrus’s longstanding advocacy for people experiencing homelessness. Her work has included the Happy Hippie Foundation, which publicly launched in 2015 to support young people facing homelessness and LGBTQ youth.
Rosa’s Place is expected to open in 2027, bringing 97 more apartments to a community where women and survivors of violence can find housing and ongoing care.
