Rojin Shakya | It’s not only about being beautiful in one sense but covering various elements to make the contestants beautiful inside and outside. The grooming session of Miss Newa 1137, the 12th season of the event is covering various areas to transform the contestants from a participant to queen of heart, head and hand.
From being comfortable and confident on the heels to understanding ethnicity, cultural values, learning and speaking Nepal Bhasa, getting oriented in various areas of personality development to enriching leadership skills, the contestants of Miss 1137 are experiencing everything under one package of grooming.
Other than grooming session and choreography classes by Rojin Shakya, Nepal Bhasa and culture orientation classes by Sunita Dongol, the contestants are preparing themselves for an opening act under the direction of Rohiya Maharjan. Gone through the photo session and photography tips by Photographer Shiva Lal Shrestha, Beauty and Make-up tips by Beautician Manju Karki, Media Orientation by Media Person Krishna Bhattarai, class on Active listening by Prakash Adhikari; the contestants have also learned the basics of Puja in Newar community, got into the preparation and making of Newar cuisines and celebrated the taste of Newar food.
Other than these the making of Miss Newa 1137 has made the contestants to involve in social activities, the major being organizing a blood donation programme. The Contestants of 12th season of Miss Newa were also been given Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness by Dr. Pradeep Vaidya. This program was conducted by Nepal Cancer Relief Society (NCRS), where the contestants got to know the details on Breast and Cervical Cancer, the symptoms related and precautions and preventive measures to be taken regarding it.
Besides the hectic sessions of learning the Newar beauties experienced refreshment. This was a visit at Chandragiri Hills, where contestants enjoyed the outskirts of Kathmandu, worshipped Bhaleshwor Mahadev and had fun with the nature. With still a week and more to face the finale scheduled on 26th of Magh 2073, the contestants will be performing for Attire show on 15th of Magh 2073 and talent show on 19th of Magh 2073.
