IEC celebrates Red Day 2015


The runway saw gowns of various kinds, some were inspired by mermaid, some were red carpet styles others were fish tail style. The modified version of traditional styles to western styles, inspired by Gothic, nature, animals, plants, birds and many other elements. Various styles of lehengas, ankle length dresses to knee length, cock tail wear to formal party wear all in one runway.

It was the celebration of annual Red for IEC students studying at IEC school of Art & Fashion, Bagbazaar and Bhaktapur center and IEC College of Art & Fashion, Chandol. All together more than two hundred and fifty creativity flaunted by the designers themselves walking through the runway more close to like models. The celebration was itself a competition to explore the best creativity and designing skill of IEC student fashion designer.

The finale found Amyma Rai as the winning fashion designer of IEC Red Day 2015. Likewise the second runner-ups spot was shared by Nikita Shrestha and Sonu Shrestha whereas Sarita Gurung and Phurba Sangaya Sherpa shared first runner-ups spot. Aliza Nakarmi and Mallika Shakya both were jointly declared as the winner of upcoming designer award.

IEC_Red_Day_2015The celebration was executed at Amrapali Banquet, Baluwatar on 11th of September 2015. Though this was the finale but prejudging decided winners. The prejudging round was conducted prior to event judged by Jury members that included Choreographer Rojin Shakya, Media Person Jharana Naharki, Model and beauty queen Srijana Regmi and Fashion Designer Rasana Shrestha.

Likewise IECians of Interior Designing did found their winners of Red Day. The team of Tashi Tamang, Maheshi C. Seneviratha, Reson Shakya, Menda Sherpa and Rajbi Thapa Chhetri named as SPERO got the winning prize. Likewise the team called BLESSINGS having Pratikshya Tamang, Sunita Ghising Lama, Priyambada Maghariya and Ritisha Khanal as team members was the first runner-ups. Similarly team called ANSPAK with Priti Bahety, Nikita Goyal, Ashok Lama, Amita Karki, Kritika Poudel and Sunita Maharjan along with team called UNIVERSAL having Anita Thapa, Stuti Rai, Dikshya K. Shrestha, Nisha Rokhana and Indira Rai were the second runner-ups. Pasang Lhamu Sherpa and Anju Pandey’s team called Product Design was awarded as Upcoming designer of IEC Red Day 2015.

IEC Red Day has been an annual event for IECians since 2007 being the platform for the students to showcase their designing talents.
