Deepmala Kharel Dhakal waves after being crowned the first-ever Miss Nepal Hong Kong International at a grand ceremony in Hong Kong.
Deepmala Kharel Dhakal has etched her name into pageant history by winning the inaugural Miss Nepal Hong Kong International 2026 title. The grand coronation ceremony was held on Thursday evening at the Eaton Hotel, Hong Kong, in the presence of community leaders, pageant officials, and invited guests.
The historic pageant was organized in collaboration with The Hidden Treasure, the official organizer of Miss Nepal, with support from the Hong Kong Nepalese Federation, NRNA, and FINYE. The event was presented with Kajal Naina as the crown partner, Kolabco.io as the marketing partner, and GlamwithDeepa as the beauty partner.
The crown was handed over by Ashma Kumari KC, Miss Nepal World 2024, during the formal “Grand Coronation” ceremony. Organizers stated that dignity, credibility, and fairness were the core values guiding the competition.

With this win, Deepmala will now represent Hong Kong directly at Miss Nepal 2026, scheduled to be held in Kathmandu later this year, a policy adopted by The Hidden Treasure to uphold international standards and representation from the Nepali diaspora.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Deepmala is a first-generation Nepali Hong Konger. She completed her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Hong Kong and currently works as an investment strategist at BlackRock, one of the world’s largest global investment firms.
Beyond her corporate career, Deepmala is known for her multi-dimensional personality. She is a Hong Kong Marathon participant, a taekwondo practitioner, a TED speaker, a professional emcee, a runway model, and an active member of Hong Kong Toastmasters. Fluent in five languages, she has also won multiple championship titles across different fields.
Her achievements extend beyond the stage. Deepmala is a United Nations Millennium Fellow and a recipient of the HKSAR Diversity List Award 2024. During the coronation ceremony, she was also honored as a Goodwill Ambassador of Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, recognizing her commitment to social causes.

Speaking after her win, Deepmala said the crown came with pride and responsibility. She shared her vision of introducing the Nepali community in Hong Kong and Nepal’s cultural originality to the global stage, adding that identity is shaped not just by birthplace, but by purpose and action.
Deepmala is the granddaughter of Ratna Prasad Kharel, who served as a minister during the reign of King Tribhuvan. Despite being raised abroad, she remains deeply connected to her roots, holds a Nepali passport, and proudly carries both her parents’ surnames.
The Miss Nepal Hong Kong International title marks not just a personal victory, but a symbolic win for Nepalis living abroad, reinforcing global representation within Nepal’s most prestigious beauty pageant platform.
