Deepak Ghimire Marks a Decade on the Global Runway with New York Fashion Appearances

More than a decade after making his international runway mark in New York wearing Daura Suruwal, Nepali model and entertainment professional Deepak Ghimire returned for three fashion appearances in September 2026.

Nepali model, actor and entertainment professional Deepak Ghimire has marked another milestone in his international fashion journey with three runway appearances during the September 2026 fashion season in the New York area.

Appearing on September 5, 10 and 13, Ghimire returned to the international fashion scene more than a decade after his first major New York runway appearance in 2016. The latest chapter reflects a career that has expanded beyond modeling into acting, event production, entertainment management and creative leadership.

The return carries particular significance because Ghimire’s international runway journey began at Couture Fashion Week New York in February 2016, where he walked in Daura Suruwal, Nepal’s traditional male attire. A decade later, his 2026 appearances connected that early cultural statement with contemporary international fashion.

Couture Fashion Week New York

Ghimire began his September fashion engagements on September 5 with “Couture Americana by Andres Aquino Celebrating America 250,” presented by Couture Fashion Week New York at The Avenue at American Dream, New Jersey.

The appearance reunited him with Andres Aquino, designer and founder of Couture Fashion Week, with whom Ghimire began his international runway journey in 2016.

Representing Nepal in a multicultural fashion environment, Ghimire appeared in a polished contemporary look, bringing a composed runway presence to the presentation. His styling also featured an IWC Schaffhausen timepiece, adding a refined detail to the overall look.

The event brought together fashion professionals from countries including Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the United States, reflecting the international character of the showcase.

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027

Ghimire continued his September schedule on September 10, appearing as part of the New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 season.

The presentation was powered by World Fashion Expo, in collaboration with New York Indonesia Fashion Week and Glam Ma Latinas.

His participation placed him once again within a multicultural international fashion setting, adding another appearance to a New York journey that has developed across different fashion platforms and creative collaborations.

Couture Fashion Week New York

Ghimire concluded the three-date sequence on September 13 with another Couture Fashion Week New York presentation, this time at the Ravel Hotel in Long Island City.

His appearance highlighted the runway experience he has developed over the years, adapting his presentation to the couture setting and different creative concepts.

Together, the September 5, 10 and 13 appearances form a notable chapter in Ghimire’s international fashion career, reconnecting his longstanding association with Couture Fashion Week while placing him within the Spring/Summer 2027 fashion season.

From Daura Suruwal to the International Runway

Ghimire’s 2026 return gains added significance when viewed alongside the beginning of his international runway journey.

During the 23rd season of Couture Fashion Week New York in February 2016, held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, Ghimire was selected to walk for Andres Aquino in the designer’s Elysium Fields presentation.

His appearance on February 13, 2016 became an important milestone in his professional career.

What made the moment especially distinctive was his choice of attire. Ghimire appeared on the international couture runway wearing Daura Suruwal, creating a direct visual connection between Nepali cultural identity and the international fashion stage.

For Ghimire, the appearance went beyond a conventional modeling assignment. It provided an opportunity to present a recognizable element of Nepali heritage to an international fashion audience while establishing his own presence in the global modeling community.

More than a decade later, his 2026 return offers a contrast between those beginnings and the broader professional identity he has since developed.

Bringing Couture Fashion Week to Nepal

Ghimire’s association with Couture Fashion Week did not remain limited to his own runway appearances.

In August 2016, he was involved in bringing a Couture Fashion Week New York showcase to Hyatt Regency Kathmandu, creating a bridge between New York’s couture platform and Nepal’s growing fashion industry.

The showcase introduced international fashion influences to a Nepali audience while creating opportunities for local models and creative professionals to participate in an internationally recognized fashion format.

It also marked an expansion of Ghimire’s involvement in fashion from appearing on the runway to contributing to events and industry collaborations behind the scenes.

A Career Beyond Modeling

Over more than a decade, Deepak Ghimire has built a professional portfolio spanning fashion, entertainment and visual media.

His work includes fashion shows, runway presentations, beauty pageants, television programs, commercial productions, documentaries, profile features, feature films and more than five dozen music videos.

Among his music-video appearances are “Timi Nai Timi,” “Mayalu Sabun,” “Pani Piune,” “Anjanai Ma,” “Make It Large,” “Bistarai Bistarai,” “Sayaun Karan,” “Timrai Boli,” “Ghazal Unkai, Geet Unkai” and “Timra Nayan,” alongside numerous other productions.

His experience has also extended behind the camera and beyond performance.

Ghimire has worked in event conceptualization, production, coordination, management and organization, giving him experience across both the creative and operational sides of the entertainment industry.

That combination has gradually expanded his professional identity from model and performer to a broader creative-industry professional involved in planning, organizing and executing entertainment projects.

Leadership in Nepal’s Modeling and Entertainment Industry

Ghimire currently serves as Vice President of the Nepal Modeling Association and Managing Director of E4 Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Paramount Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

Through these roles, his involvement extends into talent development, entertainment management, event production and industry networking.

His career therefore represents a progression from modeling and performance into wider responsibilities involving management, organization and international collaboration.

Ghimire has also served as a judge in various competitions and programs related to modeling, art and entertainment, adding professional evaluation and industry engagement to his portfolio.

Awards and Professional Recognition

Ghimire’s work across modeling, entertainment and creative initiatives has also earned him a series of professional recognitions.

His honours include the Nepal Aama Ratna Samman 2021, Tarkeshwor National Personality and Artist Creator Honor 2022 (Special Honor), State Cultural Honor 2024, and the Shah Studio Appreciation Award 2024 for his contribution to the Miss and Mr. Kids Nepal program.

He also received International Modeling Recognition 2024 at the 12th Nepal Africa Film Festival, along with the Milap National Personality Award 2024, Global Excellence Award 2024 and Shah Business Excellence Award 2025, among other recognitions.

Together, the honours reflect his involvement across modeling, entertainment, event production and other professional initiatives.

Representing Nepal Beyond Borders

Nepali identity has remained a visible thread in Ghimire’s international fashion journey.

His 2016 Couture Fashion Week appearance in Daura Suruwal brought traditional Nepali attire onto an international couture runway. His return in 2026, meanwhile, places that journey in a contemporary fashion context.

From traditional Nepali dress to modern couture and menswear styling, his runway appearances illustrate the changing stages of a career that continues to maintain a connection with Nepal while engaging with international fashion platforms.

New York 2026: The Journey Continues

Deepak Ghimire’s September 2026 appearances represent another chapter in a career that now spans modeling, acting, television, music videos, event production, entertainment management and creative leadership.

More than a decade after appearing in New York wearing Daura Suruwal, he returned to the international fashion circuit with significantly broader professional experience.

The journey from traditional Nepali attire in 2016 to contemporary international runway appearances in 2026 connects culture, fashion and professional evolution.

For Ghimire, New York remains an important part of that story and his latest appearances continue a journey that began with a distinctly Nepali presence on the global runway.
