Arun Chhetri to Lead ‘Pheri Bhetaula’, Aanchal Sharma in Talks for Female Lead

Producer Saroj Neupane is bringing back the title ‘Pheri Bhetaula’ for a new romantic film starring Arun Chhetri. Aanchal Sharma is in talks to join the project, though her formal agreement is still pending.

Arun Chhetri and Aanchal Sharma May Pair Up in New Film ‘Pheri Bhetaula’

Producer Saroj Neupane is preparing a new romantic film titled ‘Feri Bhetaula’, with actor Arun Chhetri confirmed for the lead role. The project has already drawn attention not only for its casting plans, but also because it revives the title of a well-known Nepali film made more than three decades ago.

Actress Aanchal Sharma is currently being considered opposite Arun. According to Neupane, a verbal understanding has been reached with the actress, although a formal written agreement has yet to be signed.

That means the much-discussed Arun–Aanchal pairing is not officially locked in at this stage. An announcement from the production team is still awaited before the casting can be treated as final.

A romantic story with a possible love triangle

Feri Bhetaula (Pheri Bhetaula) is being developed as a romantic film, while another published report has described the story as a love triangle.

The screenplay is still being finalized, and the director has not yet been selected. Neupane has said that he prefers to complete the script before bringing a director on board, a working process he has followed on his productions.

The team is targeting a start of filming after the upcoming Tihar festival.

For theatrical release, the producers are reportedly eyeing Baisakh 1, 2084 as a possible release date. The date, however, has not yet been presented as a final official release announcement.

Budget could cross Rs 40 million

Neupane has indicated that the production budget could exceed Rs 40 million, positioning ‘Feri Bhetaula’ as a sizeable romantic project.

Several key elements remain in development, including the final screenplay, director, supporting cast and completion of formal agreements with artists.

For Arun Chhetri, the film comes after his latest project ‘Gaunthali’ as performing successfully at the box office, adding fresh commercial attention around the actor as he moves toward another leading role.

The Manisha Koirala connection behind the title

The title ‘Feri Bhetaula’ also carries a nostalgic connection to Nepali film history.

A film of the same name was made in 1990 and is widely remembered as Manisha Koirala’s debut in Nepali cinema. She appeared alongside Prakash Adhikari in the earlier film.

That history gives the new project an additional layer of interest. While the upcoming ‘Feri Bhetaulais being developed as a fresh romantic film for a new generation, its title is likely to remind longtime audiences of an important chapter in Nepali cinema.

The production is now expected to move forward with final script work, director selection and additional casting. If Aanchal Sharma formally signs the film, her pairing with Arun Chhetri could become one of the project’s biggest promotional talking points.
