A new Nepali film titled ‘Behuli’ has officially been launched with a traditional muhurat ceremony at Karyabinayak Temple, Lalitpur, marking the beginning of its production journey.
Along with the muhurat, the production team also announced the film’s shooting schedule and release date. According to producer Arjun Pokharel, filming will begin later this week, with a nationwide release planned for Bhadra 12, coinciding with the festive occasion of Haritalika Teej next year.
What makes ‘Behuli’ even more interesting is that it marks the production debut of Arjun Pokharel, one of Nepal’s most successful and popular music composers. Known for delivering dozens of hit songs in both modern and film music, Pokharel will also handle the film’s music direction, raising expectations for a strong musical lineup.
The film is presented by The Divine Music and Samman Entertainment, with Pratap Rana as producer. Direction is handled by Sashan Kandel, while the story is written by Madhav Sharma. The duo previously collaborated on Hostel 3, and their reunion in Behuli has already created interest among young audiences.
Actor Paras Bam Thakuri, populary known as Kul Boy, who made his debut through Hostel 3, will play the lead role, paired opposite actress Divya Rayamajhi. The film also features experienced actor Sushant Karki, known for films like Teen Ghumti, Sapana Timro Mero, and Suntalilai Bhagai Lagyo Jhilkele, in a key role.
The supporting cast includes Padam Tamang, Santosh Baniya, Sarita Giri, Lokendra Lekhak, Sabin Kattel, and Samayra Thapa Magar, among others.
With Narendra Mainali as cinematographer, editing by Bikash Dahal, and action direction by Roshan Shrestha, Behuli brings together a technically strong team.
With a mix of fresh faces, experienced actors, and a proven musical talent stepping into production, ‘Behuli’ is shaping up to be one of the films to watch next Teej season.
