After weeks of speculation and uncertainty, the wait is finally over! The makers of ‘Abhimanyu – Chapter 1’ have officially announced the new release date. The much-anticipated film will now premiere across Nepal and worldwide on September 29, 2025 (Ashwin 13, Phulpati – Dashain festival).
The film was originally slated for September 12 (Bhadra 27), but ongoing protests against Gen G and the tense political atmosphere forced the team to push it back. Now, with the festive season just around the corner, the makers believe it’s the perfect time to bring the movie to audiences.
Production company Seven Seas Nepal said in a statement: “We had no choice but to postpone earlier, but with things improving, we are more confident than ever. Abhimanyu – Chapter 1 will release in Nepali language nationwide and premiere globally on the same day.”
The excitement doesn’t stop there — the Hindi version of the movie is also scheduled to release in India on October 2, 2025 (Ashwin 16) across multiple cities.
Producer Vinod Paudel revealed that the team had already spent heavily on promotions and locked overseas shows: “Delaying further would have been unfair to the audiences waiting for us.”
Directed by Sushant Gautam and creatively steered by Madan Thapa, the film features a story by Mukesh Khanal. The lead cast includes Kameshwar Chaurasia, Sarita Giri, Kiran Shrestha, Laxmi Bardewa, Gaumaya Gurung, Prakash Dahal, and Shishir Wangdel.
With its grand Dashain release, Abhimanyu – Chapter 1 is being positioned as one of the biggest Nepali films of 2025, aiming to win hearts both at home and among global Nepali audiences.
