A public dispute has erupted between popular Nepali singer Eleena Chauhan and festival organizer Dilli Pariyar after the singer accused him on social media of cheating her following a recent performance in Rukum West.
According to NepalPress, Eleena had performed at a festival in Radi, Aathbiskot Rural Municipality, before the disagreement began over her return travel to Kathmandu. The dispute reportedly centers on whether her return flight was properly booked after a direct Surkhet – Kathmandu ticket was unavailable.
Eleena reportedly wrote on social media warning people to be careful of a “fraudster from Rukum,” attaching the organizer’s photo. In a second post, she also appeared to accuse him of misleading her. The post quickly caught attention online, with several Facebook pages and groups resharing the statement.
Speaking to NepalPress, Eleena claimed that the organizer failed to properly arrange her return ticket and did not respond to her calls and messages. She said she had travelled from Radi to Surkhet after the event and later found herself in difficulty because the Nepalgunj ticket was not properly issued.
Dilli Pariyar, however, has denied the accusation. He told NepalPress that tickets from Surkhet to Kathmandu were unavailable, so he arranged a Nepalgunj – Kathmandu option and shared the airline staff’s contact with her. He described the matter as a misunderstanding and said he felt hurt after being publicly called a fraud.
Pariyar also said he had invited Eleena to several previous events and had maintained good relations with many artists. He warned that he may pursue legal action if Eleena does not publicly apologize or correct her statement.
The issue has now moved beyond a private disagreement, becoming a wider conversation on social media about how artists are treated by event organizers, especially during concerts and festivals outside the capital.
For now, both sides are standing by their version of the story. Eleena says she was left unmanaged after the show, while the organizer says he did not cheat her and that the issue arose from confusion over flight booking.
This story is not only about one singer and one organizer. It highlights a bigger entertainment-industry issue: artists, organizers, travel responsibility, payment clarity, and professional event management in Nepal’s growing festival circuit.
