Sanyukta Shrestha
Sanyukta is a British designer of Nepali origin. She has been called a “Sustainable Fashion Icon” and even compared to Greta Thunberg in the wedding world because of her efforts in eco-friendly fashion. In 2011, she launched her sustainable bridal brand, long before eco-fashion became popular.

Her bridal shop is known for using natural, eco-friendly fabrics and working with skilled Nepalese artisans, most of whom are women. Her designs are elegant, ethical, and support fair wages and safe working conditions.

She also won the PETA Luxury Vegan Wedding Award and is the first Nepali designer to have her work included in the Fashion Museum, which houses over 100,000 historic pieces.

Sanyukta’s unique approach has gained attention worldwide, with brides from many countries choosing her for sustainable wedding dresses. Her work combines fashion, culture, social values, and environmental care.

Her recent documentary, shown at London Fashion Week and aired on Fashion TV, highlighted her story and mission using fashion to promote cultural unity and social harmony. She said “Fashion should be beautiful and comfortable, but also help society. By respecting the artisans behind each dress, we help keep their skills alive and build a better future for fashion.”

Sanyukta’s journey began in Kathmandu, where she won a design award at just 17 years old. From there, she rose to become one of London’s top names in sustainable fashion. Her success is the result of passion, hard work, and a vision for a better world through fashion.
