Nepali dancers made a powerful international statement at the Global League X World Championship 2026 in Bangkok, winning three gold medals and one silver while also securing special awards for choreography, costume and stage style.
The multi-day championship was held at MBK Center in Bangkok from July 15 to 19, bringing together international dance crews, solo performers and battle dancers across crew, mega-crew, folklore, Bollywood and street-dance categories.
Nepal’s strongest results came through Nepa Dance Academy and Team NT. Nepa Dance Academy’s Teen Crew emerged as champion of the Teen Division, while NDA Junior Crew won the Junior Mega Crew Division. Team NT added Nepal’s third gold medal by finishing first in the Folklore Division.
NDA also received the Best Choreography award in the Junior Division and the Best Outfit & Style honour, adding further recognition to Nepal’s medal-winning campaign.
Nepal concluded the championship with three gold medals and one silver. Host nation Thailand topped the overall medal volume with five gold, six silver and two bronze medals.
International crews claim major division titles
The championship featured leading crews from Asia, Africa and other regions. A-Varsity Crew of the Philippines won the Adult Division, while India’s Rage United became the Mini Crew Division champion.
India also earned victories through One Move Crew in the Junior Division and Greenwood High Team in the Junior Crew Freestyle Under-13 category. South Africa’s Beaulieu College won the School Championship category.

Thailand dominates solo competitions
Thailand enjoyed a strong championship in the individual categories. Mangkorn was named World Juniors Solo Champion, while Nichcha won the World Adult Solo title. Sri Lanka’s Bihadu Whaumpurage secured the World Solo-Bollywood Championship.
The event also featured style battles in Hip Hop, Breaking, Afro and Krump. International battle dancers T9, Charlie, Max B and Yasiru Fernando were listed among the leading finishers following the multi-day elimination rounds.
A major result for Nepali dance
Nepal’s three gold campaign was significant not only because of the medal tally but also because the victories came in contrasting categories.
NDA showcased the technical strength and coordination of Nepal’s young competitive dancers in the Teen and Junior Mega Crew divisions. Team NT, meanwhile, carried Nepal’s cultural identity onto the world stage through its winning folklore performance.
The special awards for choreography and outfit styling further highlighted the preparation behind the Nepali performances from movement design and teamwork to visual presentation.
Nepal had reached the Thailand championship after teams were selected through World of Dance Nepal 2026. The delegation was led by Global Dance League Nepal National Director Roshan Gahatraj and included NDA Junior, Team NT and other Nepali representatives.
With medals, championship titles and special honours, the Bangkok result has given Nepal’s growing dance community another major international achievement and a stronger platform from which its dancers can pursue future global competitions.
