Festivals are not only way to celebrate culture but they are also the way to celebrate life. Festivals have always been an integral part of Nepalese life style. Besides its cultural, social and religious value; festivals have also been the reason to dress good and look better.
Here we have some of the creations imagined by the upcoming designers doing Bachelors in Fashion Designing at Namuna College of Fashion Technology. The student designers are the 13th batch students pursuing their studies at fifth semester in the college.

Designer Purnima Thapa has suggested something that goes compatible for all age group of women. The dress is the combination of both classic and modern. The upper part of the garment is a red colored blouse made in raw silk with a shirt collar having some embroidery details on the neck area and a bell sleeve till the waist length.
The lower part of the dress is a high waist flared skirt made from yellow colored satin fabric and is till the floor length. The designer suggests cowl and embroidery effect on the skirt as the additional element. A shawl is suggested to get a traditional look with a modern touch. The designer suggests to get a perfect look one should wear this garment with a pair of high heels and heavy jhumkas.

The designed imagined by Soni Shrestha brings back the vibes of early 20’s semi casual wear. It includes a one shoulder off with a strap and quarter sleeve top. Being related to the festive mood designer recommends dark maroon color having black, white and grey abstract print. The fabric suggested is silk satin. To combine with this top a white cotton palazzo pant having fancy lace embellishment at the bottom and floral hand prints is been suggested.
The dress would complement to the lady having rectangular, hour glass or inverted triangular body shape. But the width of Palazzo however would depend on the height of the wearer. To complete this look wearer should carry a pastel green envelop purse and wear silver colored sandal. A light makeup and light curly hair would give a complementing look.

As festival dressing has its own unique trait and the purpose is clearly to make one special for the day. As per this designer Jenita Yonghang goes for something not too casual instead less revealing, classy and appropriate for the event. The designer brings up the idea of modified version of classic gunyo cholo into set of a top and a skirt.
A shaped knee length skirt ease fit blouse is what designer imagines. For this, designer suggests Frosted shimmer fabric with contrast glitters and fine embellishment would be magical touch for the festival. Minimum accessories, natural makeup with classic cherry red lipstick, minimum hairdo is what should implement to complement with the dress.

Designer Salora Ghimire is with an idea of Nepali Indo fusion wear for this festive season. In her designer the upper bodice shows the tradition of Nepal reflected by Dhaka fabric along with chaubandhi cholo inspired blouse completed with flounces attached on the puffy sleeves.
The dress is uniquely finished with a cowl pant made up of satin fabric to give a proper pleats to the design finalized with a glistening button on the belt. To complete the look designer suggests blue ballerina flats, a simple make-up and a golden nose ring.

Designer Snehlata Acharya showcases something for those who are looking for a bit of subtle as well as stylish dress. The top is a halter with straps fastened at the back. It has straps at the waist placed in cross pattern. The top is made from light yellow colored brocade that spells minimalism. The skirt is tiered gathered one and has flares at the hemline. It is made out of soft pink colored plain cotton fabric.
The skirt has embellishment waist band with layers of tassels cascading at the sides. The designer suggests a pair of tassel earring, a matching dupatta or shawl for the ethnic but stylish look.

Designer Alisha Pradhan comes up with an idea to complement to hour glass and pear shaped body type. The dress is suggested specially for the teenagers. It is a one piece dress with a cut away design. The upper part of the garment is like a top and lower part is in circular form. The front part of the dress is shorter than the back part.
It is sleeveless and trumpet sleeve is attached to get a stylish look. It has a stand collar with a hole while strings and zipper is placed at the upper back of the dress. The upper top is made out of black colored velvet while lower skirt is made out of yellow colored raw silk.

Designer Sushant Pudasaini recommends a long circular skirt teamed up with a pink colored blouse as pink symbolizes fun, relation, luxury and romance. The blouse is a halter necked with a glittery border. The bust area has couple of strings placed in cross design and tassels are placed at the waist line to decorate the garment.
The floor length circular skirt is green in color with some prints of leaf. A nude make-up, layered hairstyle, a chunky head jewelry, platinum bracelet and a stiletto is been suggested to complement with the garment.

Designer Sarina Budhathoki brings up the concept of fusion, a blend of modern and traditional element. It is an embellished simple sweet heart necked floor length gown made out of silk fabric.
The color is orange and is embellished with green motifs to give a traditional feel. The attire is for all complexions. A green shawl can be added to get elegant look. According to designer chunky earring, a bindi, minimal make-up, a pair pump white colored pump shoes would complete the look.
