The much-anticipated Nepali film ‘Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2’ has officially starts filming. The shoot started on Wednesday in Gagalphedi, with the first scenes featuring lead actors Deepak Raj Giri and Keki Adhikari.
This film is a sequel to the hit ‘Chha Maya Chhapakkai’, which was widely appreciated for its blend of social commentary and humor. With that success still fresh in the minds of audiences, expectations for the second installment are naturally high.
The sequel is being directed by Dipendra Lama, known for his ability to handle socially driven narratives with depth and clarity. The film is expected to continue exploring social and political themes while maintaining the entertainment factor that made the original so popular.
According to production controller Dhiraj Chapagain, the shooting will be completed in two phases. The first phase is scheduled for 30 days, while the second phase will take around 20 days, depending on weather conditions. The team aims to complete filming efficiently to stay on track for its planned release.
Alongside Deepak Raj Giri and Keki Adhikari, the film also features Sanisha Bhattarai in a key role. The project is produced by Rohit Adhikari under the banners of Rohit Adhikari Films and Aama Saraswoti Movies, with IME presenting the film.
The makers have already announced a Dashain release, positioning the film as a major festive attraction. Given the strong fan base of the original film and the returning cast, ‘Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2’ is expected to generate significant buzz in the coming months.
As filming progresses, more details about the storyline and additional cast members are likely to emerge. For now, the start of production marks an important step forward, bringing one of the most awaited Nepali sequels closer to the big screen.
