Producer Binod Poudel doesn’t want Abhimanyu: Chapter 1 to be labeled as a “small film.” He believes the box office will decide everything, not the budget, not the cast, and not the assumptions made before release.
According to him, a movie becomes “big” only when audiences make it big. “High budget or famous faces don’t guarantee greatness,” he argues. “A film should never be judged as big or small just by looking at the star cast.”
He points to his previous hit Purna Bahadur’s Sarangi as proof. Made on a Rs 1.5 crore budget, the film went on to collect over Rs 4.68 crore in Nepal Box-Office, a remarkable milestone that broke several local records. If earnings define scale, he asks, doesn’t that make it a big film?
Now, curiosity is rising behind him for his next project, Abhimanyu: Chapter 1. The film faced several delays, but Binod remains confident. He calls it a story of “underdogs” a film built on heart, not hype.
The film directed by Sushant Gautam, screenplay by Mukesh Khanal and creative direction by Madan Thapa ‘Abhimanyu: Chapter 1’ is ready to hits theatres on September 18.
Abhimanyu: Chapter 1 will release in both Nepali and Hindi, reaching audiences across Nepal, India, and other global markets.
