Nepali Model Aastha Pokharel is been crowned as the winner of KINGFISHER SUPERMODELS-2. After a series of tasks and 13 episodes of the competitive journey that took off on 8th of November 2014 being aired on NDTV Good Times.
Kingfisher Supermodels 2 started with 10 girls with different talents and different attitudes, but all with one goal to be the next Calendar Girl. And finally Nepali model Aastha won the crown and the opportunity to be a part of the popular Kingfisher Calendar 2015. After winning the major award of the show Aastha said “The whole experience of the show will be a lifelong memory for me. It is a dream come true to have made it as the winner of this year’s Kingfisher Supermodels and be part of the Kingfisher Calendar 2015.”
The popular model from Kathmandu who started modeling at the age of 19, Aastha stands 5ft 9 and half inches tall had taken part in “Asia’s Next Top Model” held in Singapore in 2012 and succeeded in finishing in Top 5. She was also the part of Miss Nepal 2014 and was one of the top 5 finalists. Aastha did represented Nepal at Super Model International 2013 held at Bangkok after she completed as the winner of Super Model International Nepal 2013. She was also the first runner-ups for the first season of Face of Classic Diamond Jewelry. Aastha Pokharel was tagged as contestant no.1 for KINGFISHER SUPERMODELS-2.
The show highlighted the lives and personalities of the participating extraordinary models over thirteen episodes. Every episode had a competition and was thus a contest in itself other than the final winning glory. The models were seen performing exhilarating tasks such as The Indian Ride , Wrecking Ball, PETA Go Vegan, Typography, Aerial etc. shot by photographers like Atul Kasbekar and Colston Julian and was been judged by people from the world of fashion like Nikhil Thampi and Amit Sadh along with mentor of the show Bollywood Diva Neha Dhupia.
The Kingfisher Bikini Calendar, or the Kingfisher Calendar, is a calendar published by the United Breweries Group of India annually since 2003 that features models in swimsuits. It is credited with advancing the careers of models and actresses like Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Yana Gupta, Ujjwala Raut, Nargis Fakhri, Bruna Abdullah, Lisa Haydon, Karishma Kotak and Angela Jonsson.
