Nepali film WHITE SUN directed by Deepak Rauniyar has been premiered at the 73rd edition Venice International Film Festival, Italy on Tuesday. This film festival is known as the world’s oldest film festival.
WHITE SUN is the second Nepali film ever to be premiered at the Vinice Film Festival in Italy. Last Year, Nepali film KALO POTHI (The Black Hen) also premiered in this festival and bagged the ‘International Film Critics’ Week’ award.
The lead roles in the film are played by Asha Maya Magrati, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Sumi Malla, Amrit Pariyar, Pramod Agrahari, Deepak Chhetri, Desh Bhakta Khanal and Dayahang Rai.
Actors Dayahang Rai and Asha Maya Magrati, Director Rauniyar, Producer Tsering Rhitar Sherpa and Joslyn were attended at premier show.
The story of the film jointly written by director Rauniyar and David Barker has incorporated a story of Maoist insurgency where two brothers face dispute and disparity.
The film is slated to screening at Toronto International Film Festival in Canada on 9th of September. The film production team has not fixed Nepal release date yet.
