‘Never give up your dreams’ Stella Maris Hafele fashion designer


Stella Maris Hafele, forty six years of age is a Germany based fashion designer was spotted in Kathmandu showcasing her designs in an event called Model Hunt Nepal 2015 organized by Next Models Nepal. The event showcased on 12th August 2015 saw 32 female participants flaunting dresses designed by Stella. Stella fond of reading books on fashion, painting and listening to classic music did her fashion designing course from ESMOD, fashion design international college in Munich Germany and also from Central Saint Martin’s University London, England.

Stella designed 64 dresses for Model Hunt Nepal 2015. These included trousers, tops, short tops, Body con dress, baby doll dress, spaghetti and strapless dress, Full skirt dress, A- line skirt, wraps dress, empire waist dress, sheath dress etc. These silhouettes were been found explored in the fabrics like Velvet, polyester, satin, cotton, nylon, leather imitation, crepe, Razo, lame , Indian cotton, lace, lycra, tul, nylon and organza been played in the colors like silver, white, black, dark brawn, light blue, pink, Lila, red, blue, beige and green. Besides other decorations in the dress, hand embroidery and hand beading were the highlights.

Designer Stella did also showcased her designs in an event called PRIMA FACIE showcased at The Victory Lounge, Durbarmarg. The event was been organized by Gallery Dust and Rocks on 26th of September 2015 which had collections for ladies. Former Miss Nepal Shristi Shrestha was the highlight of the event.

How did you come into the field of fashion designing?
I came in to fashion when I was 10 years all, making my first dress.

What inspires you the most when you design the dresses?
What inspired me is the people, weather, music, museum etc.

What do you love about fashion designing and do you find any challenges related to the field?
I love everything about Fashion design, and the challenge is to find the right people to do business whit.

So far the experience in the field of designing, the shows you have participated or organized.
I do have a vast experience for years as a Designer for small shows, personal wedding’s design, and Theater designs, and now the designs of 64 gowns for Model Hunt Nepal 2015.

How did you get involved with Model Hunt Nepal 2015?
I know the owner of Gallery Dust and Rock in Nepal, when I learned about the project I got the idea to make and donated the 64 gowns to raise money for a charity for children’s in Nepal.

How do you find Nepal and Nepali aspiring models?
They are extraordinary, beautiful and very exotic.

What would you suggest for those who are interested to join modeling field and those who are interested to join fashion designing field?
For those interested in modeling, I would say this career is very difficult as they are so many models in the world, but there is always place for those who dare to be different. For those who like fashion design, this is a wonderful career to show your inspirations dreams and hope in a piece of textile, remember nothing in this world is for free and you must work hard to get where you want to go. The most important never give up your dreams.
