Popular Nepali singer Ram Krishna Dhakal has been awarded with South Asian Music Award established in 2013 with an aim to develop inter-relation and harmony among the south Asian nations.
At the press conference organized in the capital singer Dhakal said he is motived by the award and musical festival organized in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
In the survey among students studying engineering and medicines in Bangladesh, Dhakalwas found most famous and was thus awarded with USD 1,000 by South Asian Music Institute on March 20.
Dr. Anu Mahamud. Chief Guest of festival Dr. Gowher Rizvi presented South Asian Music award to singer Ram Krishna Dhakal, lawmaker Fazilatunnesa Bappy and Nepali Ambassador to Bangladesh Hari Kumar Shrestha jointly presented the award.
Singer Dhakal said that he sung ‘Bihan Uthne Bittikai…, Mann Paraune Hajar Vetinchhan…, Bachunjelilai… and Orali Lageko…’ among other songs, adding that he got offer for Bengali album but refused due to language problem.
